Participants Needed for South Jordan Country Festival Parade June 20—"Proud of Our Heritage, Embracing Our Future"

South Jordan Country Festival logoThe Genesis Group has been asked to participate in the South Jordan Country Festival Parade on June 20—and we need your voices!

The theme for the festival is "Proud of Our Heritage, Embracing the Future," and we in Genesis embody that theme perfectly! It will be easy and fun to participate, and Sister Lyn Dudley needs as many participants as we can get. The songs we'll be performing are easy to learn, and there will be only one practice: at 6 p.m. at the Genesis Meetinghouse for the hour before our June Genesis fireside on Sunday, June 7.

The parade begins on Saturday, June 20, at 9 a.m. Those who are participating need to be at the South Jordan Equestrian Park parking lot, 11000 South 2200 West, at 7:30 a.m., wearing white shirts and denim jeans or skirts. For a map of the parade route, click here.

For those who want to stick around after the parade and make a day of it, the festival—which is celebrating South Jordan's 150th birthday—also includes the following activities. Unless otherwise noted, all activities are at the South Jordan City Park, 11000 South Redwood Road:
  • 10 a.m.—Tennis, Carnival, Mechanical Bull, and Helicopter Rides
  • 11 a.m.—Car Show, Kids' Firefighter Agility Course, Skate Competition check-in
  • 12 noon—Skate Competition begins
  • 1 p.m.—Children's Equestrian Games, Equestrian Park, 11000 South 2200 West

  • 7:15 p.m.—Charley Jenkins (finalist on NBC's Nashville Star)
  • 8:30 p.m.—Sawyer Brown (five-man band)
