Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon’s Council on Diversity Affairs (CODA)
and the Salt Lake County Office of Volunteer Program Services are sponsoring a Refugee Needs Drive through September 21.Several Utah refugee families, recently displaced, are seeking new housing and needing several essential household items. These families traveled from dire refugee camp conditions in Africa to resettle in the land of hope and opportunity—America—but another move has made it difficult for them to afford basic household, clothing, and living needs. The Salt Lake County Mayor’s CODA hopes you will join in their efforts to assist these families through a special community drive to collect and distribute these basic essentials, which are so desperately needed. Please donate any of the items on the list below by Friday, September 21. Only clean and new or gently used items should be donated. Bolded items are urgently needed. CODA Designated Collection Containers are located at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Two collection container locations are available in the North Building: one at the Salt Lake County Mayor’s Office, N-2100, and one at the Atrium on the main level. If you would like to volunteer for this project or to help sort items on Saturday, September 22, please contact the Salt Lake County Office of Volunteer Program Services at 468-2185. If you have any questions, please call Noor Ul-Hasan at 943-1935. Thank you for your generous donation and support. TOILETRIES
