| Sister Pat Rogers Remembered |
Our beloved Patricia Davis Schultz Rogers, 51, passed away March 1, 2009, at her home in American Fork, Utah, of complications from diabetes.Pat was born December 9, 1959, in Salt Lake City to Paul Carlsson Schultz Sr. and Beverly Deane Davis Schultz. She married Galen Rene Rogers December 17, 2005, in American Fork. An active member of the LDS Church and a regular at Genesis firesides and activities, Pat was a loving and caring person who offered service to all, especially her family. The first thing anyone noticed about Pat was her beautiful smile, which absolutely lit up the room. She loved people and so generously shared the gift of her friendship. Her love was unconditional, and her concern for others was legendary. Her loving and caring nature will be missed. Through more than a year of unusual health difficulties and the amputation of her leg, Pat remained cheerful and optimistic. Bound at first to a wheelchair, she was always the one to cheer someone else up—not the other way around. She was filled with hope and refused to feel sorry for herself. Her main concerns were for her husband and sons, all three of whom she loved with all her heart. Only when she was assured that all was well with those she loved did she allow herself to go back home. Pat loved the gospel, and her faith sustained her through many difficulties. Her example and dedication was a strength to many, and they will miss her steadfast commitment to the things that are right. Pat is survived by her husband, Galen; two sons, Jordan Schultz and Ethan Schultz; her sister, Barbara Schultz; her brother, Paul (Nancy) Schultz, Jr.; her nieces and nephews, Tyson and Chantel Schultz and Jennifer Black; and her cousins, Steve and Lori Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pat's funeral was held Friday, March 6; she was interred in the Redwood Memorial Cemetery in Taylorsville. |
